Zenobia, Queen of Palmyra, walked proudly through Rome in 274 AD, refusing to show defeat or fear after being captured by Emperor Aurelian. She chose to wear all her finest jewels, so laden with gold chains and gemstones that she struggled to walk. This is the kind of woman who wore bold earrings such as these, moonstone flashing at the ear while the cut stones cascade down the neck in a long drop. Available in amethyst or labradorite.
