About
I started at Eumundi Markets in 1995 with two cakes of soap wrapped in raffia, shells attached, and a handwritten sign. I'd just come home from a year travelling South America and Noosa was so small it was really difficult to find work — so I made my own.
That something turned into thirty years.
That first stall expanded to include shells, specimen frames filled with fossils, artifacts and curiosities, then ceramic jewellery — while undertaking twelve years of study to constantly expand my skills, allowing my work to evolve and branch into new directions, culminating in numerous exhibitions and a Masters by Research in Creative Industries.
Primitive Earth is built on that foundation. Some pieces I make myself. Others are curated — selected from trusted suppliers around the world through a trained eye and thirty years of market experience.
I'm based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. You'll find me at Eumundi Markets every Wednesday and Saturday. Everything I stock — whether I made it or curated it — is something I would wear myself or put in my own home.
